We are passionate about ALL children experiencing enriching experiences at Saint Patrick's. Therefore, this year we have introduced the 'Saint Patrick's Passport of Possibilities'. Throughout each child's time at our school, we have planned in free experiences which are engaging, enriching and educational. Every child will receive a passport, which they keep in school and can keep a record of these experiences, until they leave us and can then take these home to reflect on their time at our school. Click here to view in more detail

Family Days Out and Things To Do

Everyone is looking for things to do during the summer holidays and we have some recommendations, aided by Martin Lewis’ website (Money Saving Expert) to help save some money and have some fun! Please follow the links below to find low cost or FREE days out for your family, things to do, places to eat and the best places to buy your school uniform, ready for September!

Things to do…

  1. Bath City Farm is free to visit. Open Tuesday to Saturday from 9am to 4pm and Sunday from 9.30am to 4pm. No need to book. https://www.bathcityfarm.org.uk/
  2. Bristol Museum & Art Gallery has free entry! Explore their collections of art, nature and history on display in this beautiful building. Find out about the last billion years of Earth’s history, explore the region’s natural wonders and discoer more about peoples’ lives, past and present.   3. Calne Bike Meet is perfect if your children loe motorbikes. This year it is on Saturday 25th July and t is an annual, free to attend eent bringing together motorcyclists and the local community.   4. Fancy a park run? There is a free, fun, and friendly weekly 2k eent for juniors (4 to 14-year olds) held every Saturday at 9:00am in Monkton Park, Chippenham, Wiltshire, SN15 3PA. https://www.parkrun.org.uk/chippenham/

  6. The National Trust has a Number of Summer Eents With eents all over our region, and some do not require admission to join in, such as the amazing standing stones in Avebury! This week, from 4th July, you can get a 'free' National Trust family pass when you pick up a physical copy of select newspapers (bear in mind it's cheapest to get a weekday paper)
  7. Chippenham Museum Want to learn more about our local history? Chippenham Museum is free to isit, open 10am to 4pm Monday to Saturday in the heart of Chippenham. Learn about Chippenham’s past and explore its surprising links to Alfred the Great and Isambard Kingdom Brunel.

Things to read…

  1. Our Local Library Online – Download the Libby App or Solus App to be able to read samples or whole books, listen to audio books online or simply resere a book you would like to collect. These apps require you to have a library card and are for children’s and adults fiction, non-fiction and magazines.

  3. Free Lego Life Magazine - If your child is aged 5-9 years, you can sign up to be sent a totally free Lego Life Magazine in the post four times a year. Supermarket Deals…

Be a savvy supermarket shopper, with deals on groceries, in store meals and even early bird uniform shopping for September!

ASDA

  1. School Uniform - If you go online to Asda or into store (our nearest is in Melksham), you can polo shirts from £1.50 and 2 packs of skirts or trousers from £7
  2. Asda Cafés kids eat for £1 - Kids aged 16 or under can eat for £1 when dining in at any Asda café. There's no minimum spend or purchase required, and this deal is alid all day, seven days a week.

SAINSBURYS

  1. School Uniform - If you go online to Sainsbury's or isit a store that stocks the Tu clothing range (our nearest is in Chippenham), you can get school uniform items (ages 2-16) from £3.

TESCO

  1. School Uniform - You can get school uniform items (ages 3-16) from £3 at Tesco, in stores and online (our nearest Tesco Extra is in Trowbridge)
  2. Remember our PTFA nearly new school uniform, which is gorgeous quality, and you can donate whatever can in return.

Places to eat…

  1. Tesco Cafe Kids Eat Free (Calne and Trowbridge) - Tesco will be running their Kids Eat Free scheme during the summer school holidays in July 2026. The offer will allow one free Kids Hot Meal Deal, Kids Breakfast or Kids Pick 'n' Mix deal with each purchase made by an adult in Tesco cafes. To redeem the offer, customers need to show their Tesco Clubcard at the till. The offer is aailable from the start of the summer holidays.
  2. Asda Café Kids eat for £1 - Kids aged 16 or under can eat for £1 when dining in at any Asda Cafe. There's no minimum spend or additional purchase (such as an adult meal) required, and this deal is alid all day, seven days a week.
  3. Brewers’ Fayre Kids Free Breakfast (Chippenham) - Up to two children aged under 16 years can eat a 'free' breakfast at any Brewers Fayre restaurant when accompanied by an adult buying an unlimited cooked breakfast. https://www.brewersfayre.co.uk/en-gb/breakfast
  4. Bill’s - If you dine in at a Bill's restaurant (Bath) during summer, you can get up to two free kids' meals (normally £7.45 each) when purchasing an adult main meal (breakfast, lunch or dinner). This deal is alid on weekdays only from Thursday 25th June and ends Tuesday 1st September. As up to two kids aged 10 years old and under can get a free meal when an adult orders a full-price main, it’s a great option for families.
  5. Ikea (Bristol) – If you are isiting IKEA, children’s meals begin at 85p, with the most expensive being £2.60/
  6. Morrisons Café FREE cereal & fruit Free (Chippenham) – During selected school holidays, if you're isiting a Morrisons Café (find your nearest*), you can get a completely FREE bowl of Kellogg's cereal and a piece of fruit. To claim the deal, you just need to ask for a "Kellogg's breakfast" at the till point. It's available in all Morrisons Cafés, while stocks last. This is a total freebie with no minimum spend required. What's more, it's open to both children and adults – limited to one bowl of cereal and fruit per person, per day – so the whole family can get this freebie. The offer is on now until Sunday 6th September, and then again during the following dates: Monday 12 October to Sunday 1 Noember and Monday 21 December to Sunday 3 January. You can choose from Cornflakes or Rice Krispies with a choice of dairy and non-dairy milk. You can also claim one free portion of fruit and a glass of water.
  7. Sainsbury’s Café Kids Eat for £1 - Enjoy one child’s hot main meal or lunch bag for £1 with the purchase of an adult hot main meal from £5.20 in the Sainsburys café.

Teddy Recommends these Places to Visit with your Furry Friends…

  1. The Little Theatre Cinema – Did you know this cinema in Bath is one of the most inclusie cinemas in the area? With screenings for those with babies, subtitle and even dog friendly screenings. If you attend a screening with your dog, you'll be issued with a fleece blanket to cover the seat used by the dog or to use as a rug if the dog sits on the floor. During the screenings, they will provide bowls of water around the screen. They leave lighting levels a little higher than usual during the screening and lower the volume of the soundtrack. This is limited to one dog to one adult.
  2. Lacock Village - Walk around the medieal streets of Lacock village. There’s a dog walking area in the National Trust car park, plus nearby walks in the countryside. Great for Harry Potter fans!
  3. Deizes Canal Walks - Deizes Canal Short Walk (1.75 miles) This is a nice family-friendly short walk around the market town of Devizes. It will stroll around town itself with plenty of refreshment options and it also walks along a stretch of the Kennet and Avon Canal. Devizes Canal and Quakers Longer Walk (2.75 miles). This alternative route from Devizes heads north of the town along the Quakers Walk path and through some open countryside for fresh air and exercise. The walk then brings you back along a lengthy stretch of the Kennet and Avon Canal for some waterside walking before heading back to the start.
  4. Aebury Stone Circle - Walk around parts of the World Heritage Site on a isit to Avebury. Dogs on leads are welcome within the stone circle and longer walks into the Avebury landscape can also be enjoyed.
  5. Salisbury Cathedral - Adults £11 in adance, £13 on the day, but children under 12 are free. Well-behaved dogs are welcome inside the Cathedral, but must be kept on leads at all times. You’ll find water bowls in the Cloisters, and you can collect a biscuity treat for your dog at our Welcome Desk.
  6. Lydiard Park (Swindon) - Open all year round, Lydiard Park is the ancestral home of the Viscounts Bolingbroke. The Palladian house, beautiful church, walled garden and formal parkland are the stroking remains of a great country estate. Great playground.
  7. Alexandra Park (Bath) - Look to the south from Bath city centre and you will see a wooded hillside rising from just beyond the rier. On the summit is Alexandra Park, a wonderful, tranquil green space with mature trees and magnificent views over the city. This 11-acre park, opened in 1902 to commemorate the coronation of Edward VII, is situated at the top of Beechen Cliff providing magnificent panoramic views of the city and the surrounding wooded vales and hills.
  8. The Sites of Bath - Distance: About 2.2 miles/approx. 4,400 steps

We are so lucky to have such a beautiful but compact city so near to us, so you can easily fit in most of the top sights in a single day. Despite Bath’s small size, a calm stroll through its cobbled streets really does rack up the step-count.

Starting From: Bath Spa Train Station and head for the Royal Crescent and the Circus, taking in Bath Abbey, the Roman Baths and Pump Room, Parade Gardens, Pulteney Bridge, Victoria Art Gallery, the Theatre Royal and Queen Square on your way. Of course, don’t march right by. Be sure to explore each landmark a little deeper before moving on. Before the return journey back into the centre of town, make sure you head for the Assembly Rooms and Fashion Museum, and then head for Bartlett Street before working your way down Milsom Street, Union Street and Stall Street.
