Welcome

We wish you a warm welcome to the community of St. Patrick's Catholic Primary School, and the parishes of St. Patrick's Corsham and St. Anthony of Padua in Melksham.

We are a Roman Catholic Voluntary Aided school situated in Corsham, in a delightful semi-rural position. We have approximately 200 pupils aged between 4 and 11 from a broad catchment area.

We are served by three excellent secondary schools;

St. Gregory's Catholic College Bath, St. Augustine's Catholic College,Trowbridge and The Corsham School, one of which the children transfer to at the end of Key Stage 2.

We hope that you will find the information on this website interesting and useful. It is intended to give you an insight into the life and work of the school and is a means of answering some of the questions you might have about Saint Patrick's.  It is also a way of communicating some of the organisational procedures and the ethos that is unique to our school.

We feel that it is important that parents know and understand us so that they can make an informed choice about our school. Parents are aware of how important the choice of school is for their child. At St. Patrick's we hope to be able to support parents in this important decision making process by being open, honest and welcoming.

The quality of education at St. Patrick's is rooted in the school's mission statement and the philosophy of education of the whole child's - intellectual, spiritual, social, and emotional development makes up the curriculum of the school.

To develop each child's talents and potential in a caring Catholic community, inspired by the teachings of Jesus Christ."

Our pupils' translation of the mission statement is;

"Live, love and learn like Jesus."

Families who choose St. Patrick's are making an active choice as the school is rarely the nearest school. However, through a commitment to the school and its values, we can then expect to enjoy a positive partnership, to the benefit of each child.

Parents who wish to apply for a place for their child are asked to make an appointment with the Headteacher via the school office manager, Mrs Gilbert.

'Saint Patrick's is a good school with outstanding aspects to its work'
